What is your area of expertise (or what is your favourite thing to bake), and how long have you been baking for?
I’ve been baking for about 7 years now and I learnt a lot from YouTube tutorials. My favourite thing to bake is still cake! I love a good chocolate cake, so indulgent!
How did you get into baking in the first place?
I started baking in 2013 when I was off work ill and my colleague suggested I try baking to keep my mind busy. It was a real therapy for me at the time and I just built it up from there.
What has been your most memorable moment with your baking?
Getting on Bake Off was the most amazing moment for me because I never ever thought I would make it on. I sent off the application form and forgot about it because I genuinely didn’t think I would get through that stage. The audition process was so much fun and then to actually get on the show was a dream come true!
How has your life changed since GBBO?
It’s changed my life completely! Before GBBO I was a stay at home mum and before that I was a teacher. Now I’m presenting for Channel 4 and I get to write recipes for a living. It’s been the most wonderful experience and I feel very lucky to be in this position.
Why do you love Arctic Iced Coffee?
Because it is so blooming yummy!! I’m a total mocha addict, I love coffee and chocolate so putting it together is a real winner for me. Arctic Iced Coffee tastes so fresh and is the perfect pick-me-up!
What’s your favourite Arctic Flavour?
It has to be mocha! It’s such a delicious blend of coffee and chocolate, absolutely perfect!
What advice have you got for anyone interested in following your footsteps and giving baking a go?
Just go for it! You will never know if you don’t give it a try. Start with the basics and practice til you get it right. And enjoy it! Baking should be done with love, it sounds cheesy but it’s true.
What are you most excited about for the future?
I am really looking forward to being able to spend time with my family and friends again after the pandemic. Also in the long term, I can’t wait to see where my career will lead in the next few years, I’m excited for all the possibilities and I hope to do this for many years to come!
