Dark Chocolate Espresso Breakfast bread

Try this delicious dark chocolate bread in the morning, its soft, light and tasty when toasted.


1 loaf

55-60 minutes


You’ll need:

300g plain flour

150g granulated sugar

75g Cocoa Powder

2 tsp baking powder

½ tsp salt

1 large egg, beaten

150ml Arctic Coffee Intenso

75ml milk

60ml veg oil or light olive oil

What to do:

Step 1

Heat the oven to 180C

Step 2

Line an 8 x 4 x 3-inch loaf pan with baking paper.

Step 3

Combine flour, sugar, cocoa, baking powder and salt in a bowl.

Step 4

In another bowl, whisk egg, Arctic Coffee, milk and olive oil.

Step 5

Pour the egg mixture over the flour mixture and stir until combined.

Step 6

Pour into a loaf tin and bake for 55-60 minutes.

Step 7

Test with a toothpick to see if it comes out clean. If not, pop the loaf tin back in oven for a few more minutes.

Step 8

Once cooked, cool for 15 minutes on a wire rack.
